SOFTBALL: Ball State sweeps Bowling Green

Game one A week of rest might have helped the Ball State University softball team as it beat Bowling Green State University 7-1 in the first game of a doubleheader Friday. Elizabeth Milian took a one hitter into the seventh inning but allowed two hits in the seventh, allowing one run and ending her streak of 14 consecutive scoreless innings.

MITS public hearings result in more Riverside route trips

MITS is augmenting two of it routes to save money this summer. The board of directors held two public hearings, Wednesday and Thursday, to get community input on two new proposals. As a result of the meetings, an additional two trips have been added to the Riverside Avenue route at 6:15 p.

BASEBALL: Rain forces Cardinals to reschedule another game

For the third straight weekend, rain forced the Ball State University baseball team to alter its schedule. The Cardinals' game at Bowling Green State University was postponed due to steady rain in western Ohio. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon.

Easter egg hunt helps UPB reach out to community

Tie-dyed shirts, pizza, exited faces and eggs. The Quad's atmosphere was filled with Easter enthusiasm as children ran with baskets in hand. Thursday was the second annual Easter Extravaganza Egg Hunt, organized by the University Program Board and open to the community.

WOMEN'S GOLF: Cardinals prepare for 36-hole day, tough competition

After some horrible weather forced some uncharacteristic scores by the Ball State University women's golf team earlier this week, the team will look to rebound in West Lafayette at the Purdue Ladies Midwest Shootout. The tournament will be Saturday and will consist of two rounds.

Ball State University's College of Sciences and Humanities is seeking nominations for a statewide award for women. Anyone wanting to nominate a candidate for the 2009 Indiana Women of Achievement Awards has until May 20 to do so, according to a press release from the university.

MEN'S TENNIS: Undefeated Ball State battles undefeated Western Michigan for MAC lead

Ball State University and Western Michigan University will collide for sole possession of first place in the Mid-American Conference on Saturday at Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. They will unless Mother Nature has anything to say about it. The Ball State men's tennis team has played all of its home matches in the YMCA Tennis Center, an indoor facility, so far this season.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: Cardinals remain winless in MAC play

The Ball State University women's tennis team is still looking for its first Mid-American Conference win of the season after losing to the University of Toledo Friday. The Rockets (12-8, 3-3 MAC) beat the Cardinals (5-10, 0-4 MAC) 7-0, winning every singles and doubles match at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.

Charles Paul understands as well as anybody how students feel about Ball State University Parking Services. It's his job to know. The 2003 Ball State graduate supervises parking enforcement on campus. "When I was here, I was the same way," Paul said. "I hated Parking Services.

Students see fire trucks flying down McKinley almost every day, but the trucks seldom visit student homes. Four Ball State University students were not as lucky Wednesday night. Some time before 11 p.m. a fire started at the house they rent. It began in the chimney and spread to the attic.
