Imagine snowflakes gently falling from the sky, a lively beat echoing in the distance, and the unmistakable buzz of a winter festival in full swing. Amidst the festivities, there's a unique blend of adrenaline, excitement, and that ever-present challenge of striking the perfect balance between looking fabulous and fending off the cold.
The holiday season paints a vivid picture of intimate gatherings, the echo of cheerful laughter, and the comfort of being surrounded by loved ones.
This matchup eight years in the making is the first of back-to-back ‘Midweek MACtion’ games for Ball State (2-6, 1-3), televised Nov. 1 on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. Coming off a 24-17 win over Central Michigan, the Cardinals turn their focus to Bowling Green (4-4, 2-2 MAC).
This loss ends their season and MAC tournament run. Overall, Ball State's final record on the season is 8-8-3 and 6-3-3 in the MAC. Today was only the Cardinals' second loss at home all year.
Although Ball State was eliminated from postseason contention a week ago, The Cardinals hoped to finish the season strong and add another loss to the Spartans losing streak on their senior day, however, it became a defensive struggle for the Cardinals to manage from the start.
Kaitlynne Buis’ day as assistant manager at Great Clips includes a variety of people coming in and out of the door, ready for a haircut. Customers sit down and Buis performs her passion, chatting away to the person in the chair. She might ask them how their day has been or what plans they have as she gently works on their hair.
“There wasn't a ton of pressure that was put on us, but at least we were staying focused and doing things on our side of the court regardless of what was happening on the other side,” Ball State head coach Kelli Miller Phillips said.
Miami continued their now 21-game win streak against Ball State, as they have won every match between the two universities since Thursday, November 3rd, 2011.

As the season looks to come to an end for the Cardinals, who are officially out of postseason contention, graduate students Kerrianne McClay and Libby Kraus look to finish strong while on the road.
“We definitely know what’s on the line for the rest of these games… be ready for much more,” Cooper said.
The juniors said this season is all about positivity and supporting one another. Christman said that the Cardinals lift each other up to help people stay positive. Mahnensmith echoed Christman in saying that these are key elements that play a huge role during races.
