With the hustle and bustle of summer internships, catching up with your friends/ family, and the endless distraction that is the internet -- it’s easy to miss some crucial announcements from Ball State’s Communication Center! This week’s catch-up highlights buying diapers to help your community, Ball State Men’s Basketball Camp, and the groundbreaking for The Village South Residential Development.

Buy Diapers to Help Heart of Indiana United Stock Diaper Pantries

According to the Indiana United Way, diapers are one of the most expensive ongoing costs for struggling families. Starting now until June 15 (Father’s Day), the Ball State Administration Building and the Whitinger Business Building will be accepting diaper donations.

If you are unable to bring in a physical donation, you also have the option to donate money online. Online donation link below.

Ball State Men’s Basketball Camps

Ball State Men’s Basketball is hosting a 3-day summer camp from June 9-12 at 9:00a.m. – 3:00p.m. for boys & girls entering grades 2-9. This camp session will take place in the Worthen Arena and cost $240 to register -- $215 if you are Ball State staff.

After this mini-camp is over, Ball State Men’s Basketball will host a 1-day “Little Cardinals Camp” on June 13 at 9:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. for boys & girls aged 4-8. This 1-day camp will take place in Worthen Arena and cost $50.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for The Village South Residential Development

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Village South Residential Development will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, at the intersection of West North Street and North Martin Street in Muncie.

This new housing initiative is part of Ball State University’s larger revitalization plan for The Village — a public-private partnership with city leaders and private developers including Trademark Construction, Schahet Hotels, and Fairmount Properties. The redevelopment aims to transform The Village into a great spot for entertainment, residential living, and dining.
