Ball State finishes 10th at the Purdue Fall Invitational

Ball State went east to West Lafayette to compete in the Purdue Fall Invitational at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course. 

The Cardinals finished 10th out of the 15-team field.  

Round One

Junior Braxton Kuntz led Ball State in round one with an even-par score of 71. He had 14 pars in his opening round. 

Junior Kash Bellar posted a 2-over-par 73 and was closely followed by freshman Alec Cesare and redshirt junior Ali Khan who both posted a 4-over-par score of 75. 

The Cardinals were rounded out by sophomore Carter Smith, who shot a 5-over-par 76. 

Round Two 

Ball State only had one man over par in the second round, with three players under par and one at even. 

Cesare led the Cardinals with a 3-under-par 68 and was followed by Khan and Kuntz who both posted a 2-under-par 69. 

Bellar went on to improve by two strokes to a score of even-par 71 in the second round, followed by Smith, who put up a 2-over-par 73. 

Round Three

Bellar led Ball State in the third and final round with a 1-under-par score of 70, he finished the tournament tied for 17th individually. 

Smith was second-best with his even-par 71 and was followed by Kuntz and Khan who both put up a 5-over-par 76. 

Cesare rounded out the group with a 6-over-par 77. 

The Cardinals will be back in action for the Little Rock Invitational at Chenal Country Club in Arkansas Oct. 16-17.
