The Indianapolis Colts hired former Ball State defensive tackle Nate Ollie to be their defensive line coach Feb. 24. It was first reported in this tweet.
From 2010-13, Ollie earned three All-Mid American Conference (MAC) player selections (two second-team and one third-team) and served as a team captain in the 2013 season. He was voted Ball State’s defensive player of the year in 2013 after finishing with 72 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and four sacks.
After his playing career, Ollie served as a graduate assistant for the Cardinals in 2015. He also spent time at the University of Tennesse as its interim defensive line coach in 2017 and Eastern Kentucky’s defensive line coach in 2018.
Ollie worked as a defensive assistant coach for the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2019 and 2020 seasons before joining the New York Jets for the 2021 season in the same position.
Ollie joins the newly-appointed defensive coordinator, Gus Bradley, in Indianapolis. Bradley was hired Feb. 4 after former defensive coordinator, Matt Eberflus, was hired as head coach of the Chicago Bears Jan. 27.
