Summit wins Ball State SGA election

Summit won by a margin of 62 points. 

Members include:

  • James Wells — President
  • Ana Batres — Vice President
  • Emily Halley — Treasurer
  • Brock Frazer — Secretary

Below are the platform points the slate campaigned with that they hope to accomplish over the next year. 

  1. Strengthen relationships with freshman advisers
  2. Strengthen the connection of minority students with peer and faculty mentors
  3. Put more waste disposals throughout campus and provide a clearer and simpler way for students to better impact the environment
  4. Strengthen Cardinal pride with sports
  5. Brighten up dark spots around campus
  6. Unify small organizations with the Office of Student Life and SGA
  7. Film Senate meetings so all students can see what SGA is working on
  8. Create Muncie Appreciation Day
  9. Maximize relationship between students and the university
  10. Raise awareness for increasing need for counseling services on campuses
  11. Increase awareness of healthy dining options
  12. Use L.A. Pittenger Student Center as a 24-hour study lounge twice a semester, more if possible
  13. Provide a "host family" for all international students
  14. Implement a dead week
  15. Start conversations on oppression with monthly summits
  16. Implement cultural and diversity training
