The sequel to the indie horror hit Five Nights at Freddy’s debuted both its trailer and Steam Greenlight page. If the first five nights weren’t enough, fans can look forward facing off against Freddy again in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
After only one day on Steam Greenlight, the game has made it into the top 10, with over 2000 comments and 200 active discussions.
Taking place in a new and improved Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, the core gameplay will be the same, but there will also be new additions. Alongside Freddy and his original friends are new animatronics that will also roam free in the pizzeria. The newcomers are said to have “the latest in facial recognition technology,” but as for what this means for gameplay, the developer has not said.
The game will also feature no doors to protect players from the animatronics. Instead they will be given a Freddy head that they can wear which, in the words of the developer, “should fool” the robots. However, there will most likely be a downside to wearing it for too long.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is set to be released early 2015.
