Cold weather leads to pipe problems

Sections of two residence halls faced repairs after freezing temperatures caused pipes to burst Thursday.

Studebaker West Complex and Kinghorn Hall are still in need of some repairs after the winter storm.

“It got cold,” said Alan Hargrave, director of Housing and Residence Life. “The pipes froze, and we’re fixing it. There’s not much else about it.”

The computer lab in the basement of Studebaker West closed because of water damage caused from the pipes bursting. Hargrave said the lab would be ready for students soon, but wasn’t sure when.

On Monday night, DeHority Complex also faced weather complications after a radiator broke and flooded its lobby.
