Former Ball State students appeared in Delaware County circuit court

Three former Ball State students accused of vandalism involving two vehicles appeared in court Tuesday to receive their initial charges and court dates.

Lauren Mason, Bianca Humphrey and Leterria Bigbee are all facing two counts of criminal mischief, a Class D felony, and could serve an imprisonment sentence up to three years.

All three pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Each of the women are scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trial date on Nov. 5 and a jury date on Dec. 12.

Bigbee was the only one represented by an attorney. Mason and Humphrey said they plan to hire attorneys by their next court date.

Mason, Humphrey and Bigbee all face fines up to $10,000 and an additional court fee of $179.

Briana Fulton, a former member of Zeta Phi Beta with Mason and Humphrey, was not mentioned in court.

The first incident occurred between May 10 and May 11, when the three women from the Zeta Phi Beta sorority and friend Bigbee are accused of vandalizing a car at a nearby apartment complex in Muncie.

Between May 11 and 12, a second incident of vandalism occurred. The first vehicle the women are accused of vandalizing was not the one of their target - an ex-pledge of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority who had reported hazing - and they went back to damage the intended vehicle.

The women face two charges of criminal mischief as a result of the vandalism of the two vehicles.

In Delaware County Circuit Court 3, Judge Linda Ralu Wolf stated that each of the women are being charged with "recklessly damaging $2,500 worth of property."

All three women are expected to be in court for the pre-trial, on time and with an attorney, Wolf said.
