FOOTBALL: No score for Ball State, Kent State after first quarter

Cardinals miss touchdown opportunity on Wenning fumble

Score: Ball State 0, Kent State 0

Ball State started off the game by moving the ball effectively against Kent State's defense. The offense got to the Kent State 1-yard line before quarterback Keith Wenning botched the handoff exchange to running back Jahwan Edwards.

Kent State recovered the fumble at its own 5-yard line, but after picking up a first down, were forced to punt.

Ball State got a second scoring chance on its third possession when it set up for a 51-yard field goal. But again the team couldn't convert any points as kicker Steven Schott's attempt was well short and wide right of the uprights.
