Doc's Music Hall, a downtown concert hall open since 1992, will close within a month.
"Our official last day is Oct. 7," assistant manager Heather Bronge said.
The closing, confirmed by Doc's manager John Thornton, comes after a sale of the building to next-door bar The Heorot.
Heorot owner Stan Stephens could not be reached for comment on Saturday.
The bar is planning a handful of expansions as the flagship location shuts down, Bronge said.
"We plan to move to the Village," she said. "An inspection is scheduled this week for where the Madhatter used to be."
It wouldn't be the first time the bar ventured into the Village. Doc's on Dill opened in October 2008 at 505 N. Dill St., the current location of Be Here Now. It closed in June 2009, less than a year after it opened.
Bronge said the new Village location wouldn't open until early 2013.
"We don't want to spread ourselves too thin with this and our other projects," she said.
The bar is also planning to open a bar and burger joint where now-closed Stirling's Pub & Eatery was located, 114 N. Mulberry Street.
