Indianapolis reports 2 heat-related deaths

INDIANAPOLIS- Health officials in Indianapolis say two men have been found dead in near-record heat that has lingered across the state for days.

The Marion County Public Health Department said a 92-year-old man was found dead inside his unventilated home with only a fan and a 54-year old male was found dead outside near his residence Saturday.

The agency attributed both men's deaths to heat, but didn't specify the exact causes.

The department said seniors are at higher risk to extreme heat because they don't sweat as efficiently as younger people.

Health officials urge people without air conditioning to seek air-conditioned places.

City swimming pools are open on Sunday.
