INDIANAPOLIS - Questions are brewing about how Gov. Mitch Daniels would run Purdue University if he is selected as its new president this week.
State and university officials refuse to say whether Daniels will be the next president. But WISH-TV and The Indianapolis cited anonymous sources Tuesday saying he would be the next university leader.
Daniels has been an activist governor in eight years at the Statehouse and pushed a bold agenda with both success and failure.
He ruled out a run for the White House last year amid a strong push from Republican Party leaders. Daniels had also been talked about as a potential running mate for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
Daniel is scheduled to make an economic development announcement Wednesday morning at Roche Diagnostics in Indianapolis.
