I'd like to thank the sisters and friends of Delta Zeta who were out at the Scramble Light on Tuesday, October 25, signing up students and others to a pledge to not drive while intoxicated.
At least one Ball State student has been injured this year by an intoxicated student driver, and Ball State police cite and refer students regularly to the Office of Student Rights and Community Standards. Those students in turn face criminal sanctions, legal fees and insurance increases.
I think everyone would support seeing those incidents reduced; I appreciate Delta Zeta for taking the time to raise awareness and encourage students, faculty and staff to drive "safe and sober."
