Concert aims to raise awareness of missing student

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A free concert to raise awareness about a missing college student will be held this week on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington.

The "Shine 4 Lauren" concert will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday in Dunn Meadow.

The event is intended to raise awareness about the disappearance of IU student Lauren Spierer of Greenburgh, N.Y., who disappeared June 3 after a night out with friends in downtown Bloomington.

The Herald-Times reports that the concert will conclude with a "shining moment," when everyone with a smart phone will be asked to download a flashlight application and lift their glowing screens toward the sky.
