Led by a four hit, six strikeout performance by sophomore pitcher Audra Sanders, the Ball State softball team ended play in the Under Armour Invitational on a high note.
Ball State defeated East Tennessee State Sunday afternoon by the final score of 5-0. The Cardinals had nine hits and no errors in the contest.
Leading the way offensively for Ball State was freshman third baseman Audrey Bickel, who hit a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning. Freshman designated hitter Jennifer Gilbert added her own RBI double in the top of the third inning.
The Cardinals return to action Tuesday afternoon in Orlando, Fla., when they play Monmouth and Central Florida. First pitch starts at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
