MEN'S TENNIS: Early success not enough

Ball State wins doubles point, drops four of six singles matches

The team that wins the doubles point usually wins the match.

Unfortunately, Ball State was an exception Friday in its 3-4 loss to Middle Tennessee State.

The Cardinals took the doubles point as juniors Zane Smith and Derek Carpenter won 9-7 at No. 2 doubles.

Sophomore Austin Sansone with Senior Shaun Bussert won their doubles match 9-7 as well

The Blue Raiders responded by taking four of the six singles matches.

Sophomore Dalton Albertin claimed a win at No. 1 singles. Junior Andres Monroy returned to action to win at No. 6 singles after missing the last 12 matches with a hip injury.

With the loss Ball State drops to 8-6 and concludes the spring break road trip going 0-4.
