Leadership conference helps students plan for the future

The All Campus Leadership conference tried to give students a chance to explore the different ways to perfect their leadership style.

Mitch Isaacs, director of the Excellence In Leadership Program, said he hopes the students left with more ideas of how to lead.

The event was hosted by Omnicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board, Golden Key, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Excellence in Leadership.

Participants began their day with breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by four workshops. From 10 a.m. to noon, students could choose two of 12 mini-lectures. These small lectures gave participants a more hands-on experience with small discussions encouraged.

Maria Pascucci, founder and CEO of Campus Calm, talked about three main lessons she had learned: being true to yourself, being self-giving and embracing self-celebration to be an inspiration.

She said she learned each lesson through experience.

Pascucci said numerous times how no one is alone with the weaknesses and was trying very hard to connect with her audience.

"I want to give you something more in depth about ways to relax than you can get from Google," she said.
