Majdi Faleh, a native to Tunisia and a Ball State student, will share his experience of living in a country under a dictatorship and being a part of several protests that led to the resignation of its president.
The conversation, "A Breeze of Freedom in Tunisia and the End of Dictatorship," will be held at noon today in the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies.
Faleh said he hopes to talk with students who have not heard about the revolution in Tunisia.
"It's good to raise awareness about the events that spread to Egypt and other countries around," he said.
Faleh said he expects to see a good number of people show up for the discussion, with some students already expressing interest in going.
The Rinker Center for International Studies and the Peace and Conflict Studies are working to have other events after Spring Break. Faleh said he wants to have another talk about how social media helped the revolution, and a fundraiser that will help families that were affected by the revolution in Tunisia.
Revolts in Tunisia continue with residents joining Sunday for the biggest rally in Tunis since the January revolution, demanding the interim government to resign.
