With a new semester and a new year underway, most people have resolutions in mind.
We're there with you, with new leaders around the newsroom and some new ideas to keep you better informed. That's our mission after all, to be your No. 1 source for news on campus and around Muncie.
We'll keep you informed on campus construction, proposed budget cuts and the best coverage of every Ball State sport, including more about the men's basketball team's run at a Mid-American Conference title as well as the football team and its new head coach, Pete Lembo.
You'll notice some changes in the newspaper and the Daily News online during the next few weeks.
Today, we relaunch Days Ahead, which offers a look at the week's upcoming events. You can find it on Page 2 under the Online Exclusives, which is something you'll see more of this semester. We are planning to create more video and interactive content as well as blogs from DN_campus. We're also going to launch a new podcast from DN_campus soon.
Don't forget to check out CHIRP TV and Bobblecast recordings, as well as the live Bobblecast on Wednesday nights.
In our first issue of the school year, fall editor-in-chief Aly Brumback welcomed students to campus, reminding them to check out all the renovation and construction projects that are helping beautify the campus, and she pointed out key speakers for the year ahead.
Aly has taken an internship at the Student Press Law Center in Washington, D.C., and we wish her well. We'll continue this semester with the goals she set in place and hope to build on them.
And don't forget: This is your newspaper. Feel free to get involved in the conversation, whether that means tweeting at us, starting a discussion about the stories you see at bsudailynews.com through the comments or sending us an e-mail. We want to know what you're up to and what you think about the newspaper.
So as you knock the snow off your boots, stock up on groceries or rejoice in getting to use a meal card again and even make a dash to the bookstore for last-minute supplies, remember the year is halfway over. It's time to recharge for a new semester and a new year.
It's going to be a good one.
