Greek and residence hall organizations came together Friday to make unique constructions and give back to the Muncie community at the CANstruction contest.
Groups collected canned goods to donate to Muncie Mission over the past two weeks.
For the third-annual CANstruction, groups built festive constructions that were focused on a holiday.
FIJI and Chi Omega teamed together to win the contest. Their CANstruction was made of stacked and decorated canned goods in the shape of a nutcracker.
Other constructions included a turkey, presents and Santa's sleigh.
The groups gathered more than 1,200 canned goods to donate to Muncie Mission.
Mark Mosias, Interfraternity Council vice president of community outreach, said he was pleased with the overall result.
"By the turnout and all of the cans donated, I am really happy," he said. "We will continue with this next year again and hopefully it will be bigger and better."
Today, greek organizations will be at the Marsh Supermarkets on McGalliard Road to collect canned food items and money donations.
