INDIANAPOLIS— A new poll finds slightly more Indiana residents think Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels should not run for president than those who hope he makes a bid for the White House.
A poll released Tuesday by WISH-TV shows that 45 percent of those surveyed said Daniels shouldn't run for president in 2012. About 37 percent said he should run and 12 percent were undecided.
Daniels has repeatedly been named as a potential GOP candidate for president. Daniels says he's keeping an open mind but insists he has made no plans to run.
Polling firm EPIC-MRA conducted the statewide telephone poll of 500 likely voters from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
