Iowa sophomore running back Jewel Hampton will miss Saturday's game against Ball State, according to the Des Moines Register.
Hampton, a former Warren Central High standout in Indianapolis, injured his knee in Saturday's 34-27 loss to Arizona. He missed the 2009 season with a knee injury as well.
Hampton is the Hawkeyes' No. 2 running back, rushing the ball 27 times for 114 yards and a touchdown this season.
Like Ball State, No. 18 Iowa uses multiple running backs. With Hampton out of the lineup, it will rely on sophomore Adam Robinson to handle the bulk of carries. Robinson has rushed for 270 yards and four touchdowns on 48 carries this season.
