IOWA CITY, Iowa – Ball State's backups weren't able to do any better than the first string against No. 18 Iowa.
The Hawkeyes added 10 more points in the fourth quarter to beat the Cardinals 45-0. It was the first time Ball State was shutout since losing 38-0 to Boston College.
Quarterback Ricky Stanzi finished 19 of 25 for 288 yards and three touchdown passes for Iowa. He did not play in the fourth quarter.
Running back Adam Robinson rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns for the Hawkeyes.
Ball State gained 102 total yards. Kelly Page completed 4-of-11 passes for 30 yards to lead the Cardinals. Eric Williams rushed for 21 yards on 10 carries.
