Ball State University finds out this afternoon what penalties if any the school faces for half a dozen NCAA violations first reported last fall.
The NCAA scheduled a news conference for this afternoon to discuss the six infractions committed by the women's tennis team and former head coach Kathy Bull.
The Cardinals in October self-reported the violations, which include a claim that Bull asked in a text message for players to falsify practice hours and that she providied two incoming players $125 loans to pay for residence hall deposits before the start of the school year.
Bull was relieved of her coaching duties in October and filed a federal lawsuit Monday against the university claiming wrongful termination.
Ball State and the NCAA met in April to discuss the violations. Several were considered major infractions because Ball State was on a two-year probation from the NCAA when the violations occurred.
Paul Dee, the chairperson of the NCAA Committee on Infractions, was scheduled to answer questions at today's news conference. Dee is the former athletics director at the University of Miami.
