The intersection of University Avenue and Dicks Street that was closed last week for construction will reopen at Tuesday morning.
The intersection had been closed because of a storm sewer that was being built. Ball State University is leading the project, consultant for the street, signal and engineering department in Muncie Stan Hiatt said. The construction of the sewer is part of a future project on Riverside Avenue by Ball State, he said.
As a result of the closure, the Muncie Indiana Transit System made a small change in its Walmart route, avoiding several blocks on Reserve street and University avenue.
There will be no other street closures near Ball State in the summer. The only construction by the city near Ball State is scheduled for four or five weeks from now on Tillotson Avenue, where the city will be sealing cracks on the pavement. However, Tillotson will still be open to traffic and the project is planned to last only a day, Hiatt said.
