The purpose of the creation of the face book group, and the humor behind the "assault" is the fact that Ball State picked this incident to send out an email. Does Ball State alert us when shots are fired into The Chug or when people get jumped in the village? No they do not. However, they did want to make sure no more grabbing was going on, because that seems far more dangerous. I get that the village is not technically campus and that you do not have to alert us, but it is a block away and there are hundreds of Ball State students there that could be in potential danger. However, these students are not alerted when an altercation occurs there, and if the safety of the student body is Ball States main concern, then maybe they should rethink what events warrant an emergency alert (even if they do occur off campus).
