INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The five Indiana Republicans running for U.S. Senate are facing each other in a debate Thursday in the first of four such meetings in the next two weeks.
The candidates will take part in the Thursday afternoon debate sponsored by Indianapolis radio station WXNT at the Indiana War Memorial.
Those taking part will be former Sen. Dan Coats, former Congressman John Hostettler, state Sen. Marlin Stutzman, financial adviser Don Bates Jr. of Winchester and Fishers businessman Richard Behney.
The winner of the May 4 primary is expected to face Democratic Congressman Brad Ellsworth for the Senate seat now held by Democrat Evan Bayh.
The next debate will be Saturday at IUPUI, sponsored by Young Republicans groups and the blog Hoosier Access.
