Greek Week a throw back to childhood

It brings us back to the days where we didn't have to think about finals, projects or papers. Back to when we could watch our favorite shows on Nickelodeon.

Ball State University's Greek life is hosting Greek-elodeon "Get Your Slime On" April 5 through April 11.

The week will include different events every day, highlighting many of the most popular Nickelodeon shows.

Greek Week Director Carson Lance said the goal of Greek Week is simple, to celebrate accomplishments and reach out to the entire Ball State campus.

"Non-greeks can understand how fun it is to be Greek and see the impact we have on campus," he said. "We can break down those barriers and stereotypes."

Kayla Dalton, external public relations chair for the Greek Week Steering Committee, said they chose a theme everyone was familiar with in hopes more organizations would get involved.

"It's a fun theme, especially with our age group," she said. "We all grew up with it."

Kelsey DeWees, Greek Week event coordinators, said for members of Greek Life, the week is a great opportunity to meet people from other Greek Life chapters.

"It's a time where so many chapters are together, it makes it a good time to meet new people and network," she said.

The kick off of Greek Week will start with the "All That" Variety Show, a talent show featuring Ball State students. The show will include skits depicting famous characters such as Pierre Escargot, Ed from Good Burger, Ms. Hushbum and (Ask) Ashley.
