Elliott Hall to have end of year bash

Elliott Hall will have an end of the year party in its back yard to celebrate the end of the school year.

Brad Maushart, Elliott's social chair, said the party should have inflatables, a slip ‘n' slide, mini pool, dunk tank, live music and local celebrities.

He said the party will start at 2 p.m. and go until about 10 p.m. There will be a movie at about 9 p.m. on a big projection screen.

This is the first time Elliott has had a big end of the year event. Last year residents were invited to a dinner to commemorate semester's end, but there wasn't anything else. This year, Maushart said, the hall will have a residents only dinner during the party.

Elliott Hall staff had excess money after evaluating the budget, so it decided a party would be the best way to spend the rest of it. Maushart said he's glad to be a part of this because a lot of other residence halls don't have events like this.

The party, which will have appearances by Charlie Cardinal and Happy Friday Guy, is open to any Ball State University student.

He said he hopes other residence hall staffs follow Elliott's lead and organize events in the future. Other halls do smaller activities, but there never is a big, blow-out event.
