Crew repairing concrete between Bracken and Pruis

Repairs are being done to the section between Pruis Hall and Bracken Library as part of Ball State University's efforts to improve the campus's landscape image.

Heavy duty machines are breaking old concrete on the walkway, which is divided in four by four sections, and new concrete will be added afterwards, Jim Lowe, director of engineering, construction and operations, said.

The repairing of chipped and cracked concrete is an effort to "eliminate the trip hazard," he said.

There is no estimate of when the work will be completed. Lowe said most of the work time depends on the weather and how long it will take to get the old concrete off.

Workers at the site said it may take them about a week to repair before drivers can pass.
