2 people sustain minor injuries in wreck near BMH

Shattered glass from a driver's side window littered the street near the intersection of Manning and University avenues Tuesday afternoon.

At 1:46 p.m., a white Ford Escort hit a white Ford Taurus while attempting to make a U-turn, Muncie Police Officer Michael Muller said.

The driver's side door of the Taurus was deeply dented and the window was shattered.

The man driving the Escort reported chest pain after the airbag deployed and was taken to Ball Memorial Hospital, just a block from the crash.

The second man complained of back and side pain, but refused to go to the hospital.

Shocked, he sat on the curb while he and his mother waited for his car to be towed. Both cars were towed to Northwest Towing and Recovery in Muncie.

Neither were Ball State University students, and names were not available Tuesday afternoon.
