As the second event of the the week of action, the Rinker Center for International Programs is showing the documentary "What are we doing here?" at 6 p.m. in the Yuhas room, at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center.
The documentary was chosen because it fit the theme of this year's Week of Action, which is poverty, event planner Trevor Foley said.
The documentary tells the story of four men who take a six-month trip from Egypt to South Africa to understand the current problems African countries are facing. Through their journey, hoewever, they realize sometimes good intentions, such as helping poor countries, do not have much of a positive effect.
"It's a provocative documentary which I hope will inspire students to get involved in these types of problems," Foley said.
A short panel discussion and a Q-and-A session will follow the documentary.
