OUR VIEW: What would be on a Muncie quarter?

AT ISSUE: U.S. Mint releasing new state quarters through 2021

The U.S. quarter is getting revamped again — this time with parks from each state.

Five states will have their designs made in 2010 as part of the "America the Beautiful Quarters Program." All 50 states, plus Washington, D.C., and the five territories of the U.S. will have a new design by 2021, with five new quarter designs released each year.

So now we're left wondering ... if they did city instead of state quarters, what would a Muncie or Ball State University quarter say?

- Welcome to the pothole capital of the world.
- David Letterman went to school here. Beat that.
- We gave Erik Estrada (and LaToya Jackson!) a real gun.
- Jim Davis lives here. Neat, right?
- Just look for the giant Paul Bunyon statue.
- Chief Munsee blesses you.
- President Jo Ann Gora's picture; word bubble: "Coinage, redefined."
- Charlie Cardinal has a hug with your name on it.
- A parking meter. Enough said.
- Snow mounds and unplowed streets. Enough said.
- The Bell Tower — but that one might actually be legitimate
- Happy Friday Guy, riding his scooter, telling you to have a great Friday!
- Watch out for the crazy weather. Seriously.
- No really. The weather changes every hour.

Anything to add? Let us know what you would like to see on a Muncie quarter.
