University Democrats will have several speakers at Cornerstone Center for the Arts tonight.
The main speakers of the night will be Rep. Brad Ellsworth and Indiana Speaker of the House Patt Bauer.
Mike Uehlin, president of University Democrats, said this is a statewide event. There will be students from Ball State University, Indiana University, Purdue University, and the University of Notre Dame as well as Muncie residents in attendance.
Uehlin said the group asked Ellsworth and Bauer to be keynote speakers because they are both interesting to young people.
The representatives will speak to students about staying active in democracy, and will encourage students to participate and stay active in politics.
Uehlein said all the speakers are excited to keep college students coming back to the polls.
There also will be a provided dinner during which donations will be accepted for an intern sponsored by the College Democrats of Indiana.
Uehlein said the room at Cornerstone holds 240 people and he is expecting it to be filled. The event is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
