Having a "Punk Rock Winter Semi-Formal" isn't too out of the ordinary for the owner of the Heorot.
Lorey Foley said every month or so, the bar has punk rock shows upstairs.
"It's a typical semi-formal," he said, "with cupcakes, punch and rock ‘n' roll."
The cover charge is $5, and the concert will feature three local bands: Webcam Teenz, Meat Coma and Crusoe.
Money raised will benefit a Muncie family whose house burned down about a month ago. The house belonged to one of the band members of Crusoe.
Foley said since it's around Valentine's Day, he wanted to make it a festive fundraiser. He hopes 50 or 60 people will come to the event, which caters to a 21 and older age group.
On Feb. 20, the Heorot will present "Freakshow a GO GO" at Center Stage in conjunction with Muncie Gras. Highlights of the event include a four-legged woman, clowns, an Elvis impersonator and a wet T-shirt contest. Adult film star Kagney Lynn Karter will perform a stage show and sign autographs.
General admission is $3 and seats in the VIP area are $12, including a private bar, stage, and waitresses.
