Ball State University announced Thursday that it is accepting applications for this year's Provost Prize award.
The Provost Prize is awarded to a graduating senior who has displayed outstanding academic standing and a strong depth of character throughout their college career.
To be eligible, the nominee must have at least a 3.5 culumative grade point average and graduate during 2009-10 academic school year. The application for this award includes a transcript, resume, a two-page essay describing one to three of the most important events during the nominee's college career and three letters of recommendation.
This year's Provost's Prize winner will be determined by a committee of undergraduates and faculty representatives from each college. In addition to academic excellence, the committee will focus on how academics and other opportunities offered at Ball State created a strong college experience.
Applications are due by Jan. 13, 2010 to the Honors House, and the winner will be announced at the Senior Honors Banquet in April.
