WOMEN'S TENNIS: Miami continues MAC domination against Ball State

After two meets, the Ball State University women's tennis team is still winless in conference play.

Ball State lost 6-1 to Miami University on Saturday afternoon in Oxford, Ohio.

Sophomore Georgina Thomson was the only Cardinal to win her match. Playing at the No. 5 singles spot, Thomson won in three sets 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 1-0 (11-9).

Ball State (5-7, 0-2 Mid-American Conference) lost the other five singles matches in straight sets.

With the win, the RedHawks (7-6, 7-0 MAC) are in first place in the MAC and are one meet away from finishing the conference regular season undefeated.

Ball State has lost five of its last seven matches. The loss Saturday also eliminated the Cardinals from winning a conference regular season title.

Ball State's next match will be against the University of Akron at 1 p.m. Friday in Muncie.
