WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Toledo loses, Cards at least get share of title

Despite not playing Tuesday, the Ball State University women's basketball team came one step closer to winning an out-right division title.

Sitting in second place in the Mid-American Conference West Division, the University of Toledo lost to Central Michigan 80-70 in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

With this loss, the Rockets are now one-and-half games out of first place. Ball State now has a chance to clinch an out-right division title if it wins its game against Northern Illinois University at 7 p.m. in Worthen Arena.

The Cardinals are at least guaranteed a share of the MAC West Division title. In order for the Cardinals not to out-right win the West it would have to lose its two remaining regular season games against the Huskies and the Rockets.

This is the third consecutive season Ball State has won at least a share of the division title. Ball State won the MAC West in the 2006-07 and was the co-champions with Eastern Michigan University last season.
