Ball State University fifth-year senior Amber Williams finished the 2009 NCAA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships 60-meter hurdle race in 12th place this past weekend.
Williams competed against 18 of the nation's best to represent the Ball State track and field team in the NCAA Championships. The event was held Friday and Saturday at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Though Williams was seated 15th in the competition with a time of 8:24, she finished the NCAA 60-meter hurdle race in 12th place by crossing the white line with a time of 8.46.
Junior duo Ali Bishel and Katie Johnson also secured NCAA qualifying times. Surpassing time requirements, Bishel earned a qualifying mark in the 5000-meter race with a clock of 16:17.82 while Johnson took the mark in the 60-meter hurdles with a 8:27 time.
The Cardinals will begin their outdoor season with the commencement of the Mike Poehlein Invitational at West Lafayette starting at 10 a.m. on April 4.
