The Ball State University track and field team concluded the Mid-American Conference Championships with a tally of 73 points to boost them ahead of the other nine teams.
The Cardinals left Kent, Ohio, in third place overall and falling short behind the University of Akron, which earned 110 points, and Kent State University, which collected 96 points.
Fifth-year senior Amber Williams took first when she ran a 7.44 in the 60-meter dash and 24.27 in the 200-meter dash. Williams racked up more points for the Cardinals with a first-place finish of 8.24 in the 60-meter hurdles. Junior Katie Johnson trailed Williams to finish the race in third with place with 8.53.
Junior Ali Bishel won the 3,000 meter, crossing the white line at a pace of 9:43.23.
