TRACK AND FIELD: Senior named conference's most valuable performer

Ball State University track and field athlete Amber Williams was named the Women's Most Valuable Performer today for her performance at last weekend's Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Williams won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.24 seconds, the 60-meter dash in 7.44 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 24.27 seconds at the conference meet. The fifth-year senior scored 30 of Ball State's 73 points as the Cardinals tied for third out of 12 teams.

The honor was the third in Williams' career, as she was also named the Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer at the 2007 indoor and outdoor MAC meets.
