Heading south didn't help the Ball State University softball team avoid winter weather this weekend.
The team traveled to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the Razorback Invitational.
In the one game the team was able to finish, the Cardinals fell 10-1 to Wichita State University. The lone Cardinal run came off a squeeze bunt from Alicia Barkley, which allowed Lisa Rozanski to score in the third.
In the Cardinals' second game, Arkansas was up 1-0 in the sixth when the game was postponed due to rain. The impending snowstorm that followed Saturday froze the field and forced the cancellation of the rain-delayed game, as well as the rest of the tournament.
