For the first time this year and the fourth time in her career, Ball State University softball pitcher Elizabeth Milian has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week.
Milian went 3-2 during Spring Break. She pitched four complete games, striking out 30 batters in 34 innings. Against Indiana University, Milian gave up one run while notching nine strikeouts to help propel the Cardinals to a 4-1 victory.
Milian has 72 strikeouts on the season, which puts her on pace to break the school record of 200 for a single season.
Milian and the rest of the Cardinals begin their home campaign with a doubleheader Wednesday against Valparaiso University. The first game starts at 2 p.m. at the Ball State Softball Complex.
