MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cards season over after 64-52 MAC Semifinal loss to Buffalo

CLEVELAND - The Ball State University men's basketball team suffered a 64-52 loss to the University at Buffalo in the first of two Mid-American Conference Semifinal matchups Friday at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena.

Seniors Laron Frazier and Rob Giles led the Cardinals with 15 and 13 points. Freshman center Jarrod Jones had eight points and a team-high five rebounds.

For Buffalo (21-10, 11-5 MAC), center Max Boudreau had a game-high 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting and added five rebounds. Guard Rodney Pierce had 18 points and three assists, while forward Mitchell Watt had 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

The Bulls won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Cardinals 36-23, including 12-9 on the offensive glass - leading to 16 second-chance points. The Bulls' bench also outscored Ball State's 31-6.

Ball State's season ends at 14-17.
