The Ball State University football team was honored Tuesday by the Indiana General Assembly for its undefeated regular season.
Coach Stan Parrish, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tom Collins, co-captains Brandon Crawford and Dan Gerberry and Dante Love attended the event on behalf of Ball State.
Rep. Dennis Tyler, a Democrat from Muncie, wrote the resolution. State Senator Sue Errington, a Democrat from Muncie, sponsored it in the Senate.
Ball State won the Mid-American Conference West Division and set a program record for most wins in a season. The Cardinals lost in the MAC Championship Game to the University at Buffalo and to the University of Tulsa in the GMAC Bowl.
