Two Ball State University students were chosen as Indianapolis 500 Festival Princesses and one participated in the St. Patrick's Day parade Tuesday in Indianapolis.
Sophomore interior design major Jennifer Eakins and senior speech pathology and audiology major Jeannette Young are two of 33 young women from Indiana to be selected as princesses.
At the parade, Eakins said, she passed out candy to kids and enjoyed the nice weather.
The princesses represent 10 colleges and 25 cities from the state.
During their reign, Eakins and Young will work with community outreach programs to educate elementary students about the annual race and the history of the track.
