After the first day of the Mid-American Championships, the Ball State University women's swimming and diving team is eighth out of the eight competing MAC schools.
The team finished eighth in both the 200 and 800-yard freestyle relay.
The Cardinals trail seventh place University of Akron by eight points and first place Miami University by 30 points.
The championship will continue Thursday with preliminaries for the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle and 1-meter diving at 11 a.m. and the finals for those events at 7 p.m.
