One Ball State student is encouraging others to take a stand on national economic policy.
Senior Cody Willis' unofficial student group, Let's Stand, will meet at 10 p.m. today in Bracken Library Rm. 401.
He said his goal was to get a diverse group of people together and come up with a multidimensional business plan with hopes of changing national policy.
"Rather than graduate into an economy with no jobs," Willis said. "Let's create jobs."
Willis said the country was running on old ideas and the government was giving money to those who made mistakes. He said the people of this country needed innovation.
"It will be a big deal because it will be controversial," Willis said. "It will challenge ethics and where the money goes."
Willis said he believed "one group can make a change" and held this as Let's Stand's motto and mission statement.
He started a Facebook group and already had 25 people saying they would be attending the first meeting. He also spoke with students on campus and thought there could be 65 people at the meeting.
"Imagine how big Ball State could be if we came up with the next economic plan," Willis said. "People don't want to believe we are the future, but we are."
