Christine Hamilton will pass on her title as Miss Greek this evening.
Hamilton, of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, won Miss Greek 2007 and will attend this year's pageant at 7 p.m. in Pruis Hall to hand her crown over to the new winner, Sigma Nu President Dusty Pettit said.
Sigma Nu hosts Miss Greek every year, and Pettit said it is the fraternity's largest philanthropy event. The last pageant raised about $1,900 for Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
In the past the pageant was held in the fall, but because of scheduling conflicts within the greek community the spring timing worked better this year, Pettit said.
He said 13 women plan to participate in the event and almost every sorority on campus will be represented.
Miss Greek has four events: creative wear, talent, formal wear and an interview session. During the creative wear event, women must wear an outfit that creatively displays their sorority's greek letters.
Pettit said Sigma Nu will donate all proceeds to Big Brother and Big Sister of Muncie. Admission is open to anyone and is $5.
"People should come because it will give everyone a little exposure to the greek community," Pettit said.
